The reason I joined this forum:  I am a Porsche Cayman owner looking to gain knowledge and advice to buy a 968.  I enjoy working on my own cars.   I think the 968 is the best looking pre-2000 Porsche and I'd like to own piurchase a Coupe model in the near future.

Thanks to all for the kind works, especially "RAP's" be patient...   I ned to follow those words as I'd love to buy one tomorrow, but the market is crazy right now and prices are all over the map.  I've seen some good deals on automatics, but my preference is a manual.  If anyone has some advice please let me know.

Purely a personal preference , but I’d stay away from a tiptronic unless you’re planning to drive the car daily in a bumper to bumper commute in which case it may be ok.. otherwise it doesn’t even come close to the driving fun of the manual.   I’ve owned both, and I bought the automatic simply for the above mentioned reason ( bumper to bumper commute ).  It’s still a 968 so better than driving a boring Japanese or American car , but there’s a night and day difference between that and a manual 968 .   IMO.
