Well, I now officially own a Porsche 968. I have been reading posts on the site now for about 2 months as I knew I was getting one, but it is officially done as of a few days ago. My father purchased a 1992 968 Conv. back in December of 1998 and this year was given a company car with his new job, so we worked a deal for the 968 to stay in the family. It is black with a black top and tan interior. It is manual transmission and everything in it seems pretty stock. The previous owner added an Eclipse deck unit and 12 disc changer, and the wheels are upgraded 5 stars with the Porsche cap.
For me I am upgrading from a 1993 Mazda Miata. I loved the car, and at times do miss it, but I have always loved this Porsche. My dad originally had a 944 Coupe, so this was his follow up car.
My first project is new speakers, as the passenger door woofer is completely shot. I have to turn the bass all the way down just to not have it rattle. Aside from that, the car is in great shape with only 80,000 miles.
I am looking forward to getting lots of information from you guys. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the community. I'm sure that you will find a ton of information here that will make your 968 experience much better.
Of course we would all like to see pictures and it helps if you put your location into your profile.
Regards,
Jay

welcome Mr. Husker, fun car, fun community <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
you should keep your Miata, strip it down to a track car, and race it!

I have to give the car a good wash this weekend, then I will take some pics and see if I can figure out how to upload them. I updated the location also. Surprising to me that in Dallas I actually see very few 968s. Of course, that is part of why I love this car.
I sold the Miata about a month ago. I am not yet to the point in my life where I can justify keeping an extra car around for weekend fun, although if I could the Miata would certainly be it.

There is a limit on the size of the photo so watch that.
I run the 968 cab registry and have almost 550 cabs registered. Contact me at jeffery.coe@snet.net and I'll send you a copy and we can get your cab signed up.
