I am not sure if this belongs to a 968 forum member or not but just came across the listing -

This would make a nice holiday gift for someone...

Very interesting. I have to say, though....looking at the underhood shot, IMHO it's a mess. I don't mean dirty - it's quite clean. It just doesn't look orderly - like things were shoehorned in wherever they needed to go, with no aesthetics entering the equation. That may seem picky - and I'm certainly not trying to be (but I'm also not interested in purchasing the car), but for that kind of money I'd expect more.

i hate to pick apart cars for sale, and i won't go into detail, but i too noticed a few things that i definitely would have done differently

it begs the question though "why is it for sale?" - certainly he is going to take it in the shorts, and that was by no means an overnight project - i don't understand why anybody would sell such a thing, unless it just didn't work right and he gave up

Porsche Dude knows the seller, and I actually talked to Keith about purchasing. It's a nice, well sorted car. He's a tinkerer and likes to build cars... That being said, he will certainly be losing money on it.

The only things I don't like is the black an red engine bay and the wheels. If I had the money I would buy it, it looks like a fun toy.

without picking it apart, because there is a LOT of good stuff there, and this would probably eventually be a great car, i don't know how sorted it is

i read some things the seller said about still needing to sort out some things in the running, and the engine bay is indeed a mess - definitely some tidying to do there - i don't like the air cleaner location or size, and the motor mounts suck (tried them and removed them - too much vibration)

but again, there is a LOT of work done that makes that a great start, and it is pretty - it shouldn't be too tough to wrap it all up

Looks like the guy did a good job. Would definately buy it if I had the money to spare. I believe that each person who is truly into cars has their own opinion and likes. It really is too bad that some try to knock down what another has put their sweat into and made something that THEY like.

If I had the cash, I'd be all over it.
Yea I'd change some things, but it's a nice car.

Looks gorgeous! I would change the rims and seats. Love that shot of it in the 944 mirror.

At 25K I would assume he is willing to take a bit of a loss on what he put into it.

I just stumbled upon this car as well. It's not a 968, but it still begs the question - unless it's due to financial constraints - why would someone who likes a car enough to spend the kind of money it takes to create something they should now love ( I mean w/ 400 HP what should not be to love?) decide to sell it w/ 1,500 miles post completion. Is there a pattern here? Do these guys just enjoy the project, then get bored, or is it more likely that maybe at the end of the day, these particular modifications did not really create a balanced car?

Wonderful 944 Turbo in great condition. This is a very special car! I built this car this year with the emphasis of creating a race track performance car which still is easily street driven and reliable.

The motor is 3.0 liters. It has the same pistons use by PORSCHE when they made their 968 Turbo. I purchased these piston at Andial in Santa Ana CA . Today this motor develops dyno proven 400hp at 14 LBS OF BOOST (this is low boost but great power) and and the acceleration of the car is simply crazy.

I have a complete list of all the modifications done to the engine, Turbo and suspension. Car is equipped with a 5 speed transmission.

The car is in very good condition and has only been driven about 1500 miles since the work was completed.

Body is laser straight with a perfect paint job and the interior shows very nice front seat are redone .

This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a top performance vehicle in a modest price range.

Wow! That 951 is stupid cheap. Seems way to good to be true. I got about 40k in my 3.0 951, and still needs a paint job to be totally perfect. I bought a 968 project rather than a paint job for now. My car has an s2 block, 968 crank, mahle pistons(same used in the craigslist ad), pauter rods, 89 944 8v head, vitesse stg3 turbo, lindsey intake/maf, lindsey chips, lindsey mafterburner, etc, etc. Seems like a very similar setup. These cars are definitely the cats meow with boost, cant even fathom why someone would part with one. Especially for waaaaay less than it cost to build. Seems like a scam.
