Floor Jack Recommendations
#21

You never called!!!

The post, which has the pad on top, is solid bar and 1 and 3/16 inches in diameter.

The outer tube is 1 and 9/16 inches OD, with a wall thickness of a little over 2/16"- that leaves an average clearane between the inner post and the ID of the outer tube of just under 1/16". I don't have a decent mic to measure....

The locking pin is solid and approx. 1/2" OD.

Shipping weight for two (2) stands is 27 lbs. Each stand is rated for 6000 lbs. One stand is sufficient to support our car.... but I wouldn't recommend it trying this!!!

Like Barth7 indicated, these are shiznit! They ain't cheap either- last group buy was $68 per, not including shipping. I got four and tossed my old craftsman stands.

What I've found to work well as a jacking pad is a hockey puck. Pucks can be had for very little on ebay etc.

I always double up on jack stands and supports when under any car, so as to minimize any concerns...

I saw that Pelican also sells those jackstands, FWIW. Steve is usually sold out.

Back more on topic, I am still happy with my aluminum floor jack from a race shop off eBay.

Dr. Allen! This is Bart Hoillingsworth from Hamilton. Hope all is well for you. How is your car coming?

That jack looks nice, super low, but the 23 lb jack I have has at least one advantage over it
