I've pondered this one for a while now, and gone back and forth. It has truly been an emotional roller coaster. I love the car, and I love driving it. I've spent a ton of money on it, and a large part of my time for the last 11 years. This has not been an easy decision by any stretch of the imagination. It is complicated by friendships I value, this website, and Design 1. Reaching this point has taken a lot of soul searching, and a lot of wine.
The bottom line is that It has come time to part with my blue car. I just don't think I will be driving it anymore after I get the Targa. It would be a huge waste just to let it sit in the garage and gather dust. It's been doing that entirely too much already over the last 11 years. This car deserves to be driven.
Most everybody knows that I have been meticulous about this car. It is also well known that I have left no stone unturned in terms of updating and improving things. It has truly become the 968 that Porsche should have built. As a result of the work, it is now the fastest 50 state street legal 968 in the country, and is truly unique.
It’s currently running a bit over 340hp and a bit over 300lb/ft on 91 octane and passes California smog with flying colors. Pretty sure I could pump it up to a safe 375 (I had it there before but encountered an off-throttle issue and then de-tuned it to 340+ to cure that. I now think I can resolve if somebody were so inclined). The car handles like a dream, and gives up very little ride comfort in doing it, all due to the hydraulic struts and shocks and progressive springs.

I’m sure there’s more. It’s hard to remember everything. Of course it would come with the spare, tool kit, boot cover & bag, owner’s manual, and all that.
Really the car needs nothing but somebody who can drive it. I’m just not that guy anymore.
If you were to try to buy one and duplicate this car, you would spend at least $70k. Obviously I realize that there is little chance of getting that much for it, but it certainly paints a picture clear enough to scare off those who would try to offer me $30k.
