FIFA WORLD CUP 2014 - BRAZIL
#41

SCORE!!!

I applied on the FIFA website and have received positive feedback that I have a ticket to HOLLAND x SPAIN on the 13th in Salvador!

I have booked a flight on GOL Airlines and a hotel in Salvador. All this to watch the team of my parents birthplace. Adding all those items up, that game will cost me an additional $600. I expect it to be an unreal experience, since those two countries were the finalists in 2010. I am sure the city of Salvador will be awash in Orange.

I'm happy for you Jake, but it will be very, very difficult for our Dutch neighbours. My prono: 1-3.

Even more difficult for Holland when they have only 10 players who can stay upright ( lately it seems Robben has a tendency to spend much of his time as a quadruped on the field..diving..err, I mean falling...err, I mean being fouled to the ground ..LOL ). But kidding aside that should be a phenomenal match ! Nice " score " Jake !

Damn Philippe, your compatriots Hazard and Lukaku are both on fire ! If they perform as impressively on the world stage as they have in the EPL all season, we're in for a hell of a show ! But as great of a total team Belgium has, I think ultimately the mental advantage , experience and resolve of the veterans will likely top the youngsters . I'm always rooting for the underdog, ( in every sport ) so would love to see a dark horse team take the grand prize, but I think the chances of the " usual suspects " rising to the occasion is always an ever present fact of life ( was going to say fact of " football" but it's the same :-) )

Lol, I'm also definitely an underdog-person.

You are quite right Dan, I wonder what they get for breakfast over there, the English cereal must be pretty potent stuff :-)

We got pretty lucky with the team draw, so my hope is, once (and if) they get past the group stage our Devils can stunt once or twice. If they can reach the semi-final I would be one very happy Belgian!

In case they happen to fail, they can only get more experienced by the next World Cup. As a team, I expect them to peak performance wise by then.

If they keep their cool and both feet on the ground, who knows what can happen?

Too bad Benteke is out for at least 6 months due to a torn Achilles tendon.

Hey Jake, tell the Portugal banner fans in the design office that Brazil is complaining about having to hire special towel boys ( similar to the helpers the NBA uses to wipe the court ) trained to rush out and clean up the field spots where C.R. is going to hit the grass...LOL.

ps. - for you non soccer followers, Ronaldo keeps so much hair gel on at any given time , it makes it look like the Exxon Valdez spilled on top of his head.

Pretty good IMO, though still falls short of my all time favorite from two cups ago where the super stars play satan's team . Any of you guys remember that one ? Cantona takes the " final shot ". Ahh, good ole' Eric...one of the most lethal players of all time ..on the field and in the stands, lol..

Very cool !

And glad to see the custom shirt arrangement observes the latitude order of the countries ( well, considering the northern border of Canada ) :-) . That arrangement explanation might appease local fans wondering why Brasil is not at the top position of your tshirt...and possibly also help some confused fans who will try to figure out at which venue / in which group Canada plays, lol..

Yah... I'm calling it my "Identity Crisis Shirt"!

I already anticipate that some Brazilian will ask why Brasil is at the bottom. My answer will be that Brasil is strong and acts as a "foundation" on which others measure their soccer level. Might be "lame" but I need a quick reply... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

If there is one thing that could comfort anyone , even Ibrahimovic , for not making the World Cup , this would be it !

I love this photo - it's the most evocative, iconic illustration of the world's only one true and unifying religion - no, not Christianity, lol , but FOOTBALL !

If you ever drive the toll road from Rosarito to Ensenada, you will see Mexico's version of the statue in Brazil. Took this on the way home from doing the Rosarito-Ensenada bike ride.

Nice house below. Hope they don't have a strong quake or mud slide - the owner might end up with a sudden visit from Jesus in his living room.
