Escape 2011 in Flagstaff
#1

Registered for Escape today and while doing so, found out there is a "Hopi nation 968 roundup" scheduled on Friday, Sep 16th. If anyone else is going, let's hook up before hand.

I'm considering coming to Escape as it's pretty close and Flagstaff is beautiful. That 968 tour looks like a long hot day though. To get the SO to Flagstaff I'd likely have to promise a drive through Sedona instead.

My father and I are already signed up. Hotel rooms reserved and ready to go! Now, I just need to prep the 968 for the trip. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Lonestar, I shall be there. If you are coming through Albuquerque we can meet up and caravan over, I think there will be several other Roadrunner Region Members going too. Looking forward to seeing you and Pam again, Bob Blackwell.

Bob, good to see your name again on Forums. Have you picked up another 968 yet?

With our son and his family living in Phoenix, I have a reason to go to Escape but we will be driving to Tinker AFB, Okla (Oklahoma City) in June (with the Prius of course) and not sure I can handle so much long distance driving. If we can do it, we will - the 968 only has 13,900 miles on the odometer and I can rationalize one long-distance trip with the car. However, wifey is not keen on long distance drives so have to do some sellin'

Hey Bob, good to hear from you! We are indeed heading north before hooking a left. I will call/text a couple of weeks in advance so we can get together and caravan. I think I'm the only 968 in Carrera Region so I guess it'll just be us. Not sure if anybody else from CR is going. I'll ask at the next club meeting. Looking forward to seeing our RRR buddies again!

If anybody else is passing through El Paso/ABQ on the way to Flagstaff, please chime in!

Well................I didn't find another 968 that was low mileage in excellent condition, but I did find a nice standard Cayman with Tiptronic S. So far I love the car and it is in my favorite Porsche colors (silver with black interior). I promise to stay in the rear and not interrupt the lovely line of 968s on the drive outs. Looking forward to seeing everyone who comes, good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Yes we did! We had (I think) eight 968ers in attendance. Pictures forthcoming. Gotta' figure how to shrink the pics down to the 1mb size though.

Lonestar,

I use FastStone Photo Resizer; I think it was a free download, and it's pretty straightforward and intuitive. It must be, if I could figure out how to use it!

Grab the Picture Resizer PowerToy (or the "clone" of you have Win 7). Drop-dead easy.

Still waiting for some picture...

In the meantime, someone can write something about their experiences!

I know a "picture is worth a thousand words", but something... PLEASE!
