Belgian beers rock ! Serious alcohol content ( unlike most of the other wussy beers ) and one simply must admire any country with the largest PER CAPITA breweries on the planet
Almost a compelling reason to be a trappist monk .. in the next life

I've only really ever had a passion for Porsche.

I did have an interest in watches, I have a few. An Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch and a Seamaster. An IWC Mark XII and a Nomos Tangente came next. And a few Swatches. My interest has waned over the last few years. The trend seems to be towards larger watches, which don't suit my wrist. So nothing has really appealed enough.

I also bought them when I was between Porsches. It got to the point where I said to myself, I could go buy another watch that'll sit in the drawer most of the time (afterall, I can only wear one at a time). Or I could put those funds towards my real passion.

Related to motoring, I have an interest in car brochures. Most are quite straightforward product focussed pieces, but some really give a sense of heritage. Saab and Volvo are 2 examples. Unfortunately, I think the quality of car marketing has declined. Many brochures are just a collection of pretty pictures and generic puffy words.

My other passion, if you could call it that, are my wife and daughters. It's fascinating to just watch an infant exploring her surroundings.

Last post reminded me of the good ole' days when fans of both Porsches and watches could have their cake and eat it too: the "Porsche design" watches were made by IWC. ( I had one ) Then a few years back they switched to Eterna as the OEM for their watches ( I have one of those also - chrono ) .

hmmm - i don't wear a watch, and don't like porsches - lol - not looking good for me

i'm an anal retentive, obsessive compulsive, adrenaline junkie with ADD - i get passionate about anything i am doing at the moment, but once it's over, i lose all feelings about it, and i'm on to the next thing

Flash, that was hilarious!

And don't let Dan fool you. His list should say clothes, wine then beer, lol.

I've owned a driving school for the better part of eight years now so I spend a lot of time in my HCH II teaching teenagers how to drive safely. My driving instructor was rather shady but our drivers keep it real by driving pre-determined courses to expose all of our students to the same driving situations. www.sbdriving.com

I also teach physics and coach basketball and tennis. More recently I've begun playing a lot more tennis and a lot less basketball (right ACL reconstruction eleven years ago). Just won our league for the first time last season and seem to be getting things going in town. www.smhoops.net

Love to hike and backpack when the opportunity arises. Finally, I love to photograph sports and landscapes. Inherited a bunch of Leica gear from my father when I went off to college in '93 and have kept most of it.

A couple years ago my brother bought an Omega and then a couple Rolexes and I became interested. Ultimately I decided that I enjoy cars more than watches and that in my line of work, I would be a little embarrassed to wear a watch that is more of a statement than anything since my phone has a perfectly accurate clock on it.

When I'm not driving the 968, I head out in my '70 Boss 302.

Here is my other passion. 1989 VW Vanagon Syncro. I spend as much time, maybe more time, working on this vehicle as the 968 (it breaks more often!). They make a nice matched pair, the 968 can do everything the Syncro can't, and the Syncro is the swiss army knife of vehicles: off road trips (4 wheel drive), moving big stuff, driving up to 6 people around, a bed when my wife kicks me out, the airport car, the rainy day car, the home depot saturday car, great for day outings. The cross training is great too when I work on each and learn from one to the other, the Syncro community is similar to the 968, parts are getting rare, people help out across the country, meets, etc.

Yesterday, I offered flash to trade his 968 for my Syncro --- he doesn't quite yet understand he would get the best end of the deal.

I checked out a few pics from the Syncro site. Why in the world would someone go rock crawling with a van?

The wife and I just rode the Tail of the Dragon last week on my 09 Harley Ultra. Own 6 guitars, mostly Gibsons and a Martin. LOVE to play Softball, I'm 57 and still play against 20 year olds. After 3 games, hitting 9 for 10. Currently first place in the Hillsborough County league here in Tampa. Play tennis every Sat. and Sunday morning. Just not enough time to do everything I love to do.

Well as a Belg, I like and drin a lot of Belgian beers late in the evening while watching TV. I tried a lot of beers : Duvel and Westmalle tripple always remains.
Other passion are my bikes, 8 bikes for me and my wife is nice.
My favorite and last purchase is an American Cannondale Synapse carbon with the new SRAM Force BB30. I do more km / year with the Cannondale than with the P968.
My dog beside the bike is another real baby.
