End of an Era!
#41

Lol I have no idea, but maybe our women nag more than those in other countries? Hmm... Or maybe the men spend too much time in bars?

Kidding of course.

I think it's mostly the combination of too much work in too many hours and/or having to raise small children at the same time. And since the churches are getting more empty by the day -serious lack of young religious people... and the elderly, well...- people are less afraid of the judgement by 'the community'.

Divorce is simply a better and more accessable option as opposed to 20 or 30 years ago. Better at least than staying together for decades just out of habit.

Sad but true IMO. It would be better for all if people just had more time for each other instead of chasing cr*p you don't need. Over here burn-outs are getting more and more common. Not exactly healty for a relationship. Ask me how I know.

Luckily I'm not divorced (yet).

Divorce was certainly a consideration which is why we were together 16 years before we got married. I suspect I've seen most of what I will see. We went thru difficulties early on with her children that most people don't ever go thru. Course it's always a bit of a crap shoot! Off to Watkins Glen this weekend after Pocono last weekend!

People forget marriage is a 60-40 proposition. Eanh party puts in 60% of the effort in the relationship and takes out 40%. The balance stays in the account to cover the difficult times. That how we have survived 48 years.

There's a lot of truth in that. Definitely.

One reason for divorce in France .. ( photo from the red carpet at the Cannes film festival, this week ) " - Wait, your heel is caught in the carpet and caused a small tear , don't move at all , just stand as you are until I get a chance to quickly fix that..."
