Electrolysis
#1

Are the many cooling faults caused by stray electrical currant through the engine coolant .

The test for checking is before the old antifreeze is changed.

Connect the negative of the voltmeter to a good ground.

put the positive lead submerged into the coolant tank, the voltage should be less than .10 volts.

Test should be carried out with a cold engine.

If the reading is higher then check each and ever unit ie heater blower a/c compressor etc.

Do a cranking test on the starter and watch the meter, any voltage spike will indicate a poor ground conection.

What is the up to date recomendations in the States for 968 antifreeze ie OAT or HOAT !
