just spoke to pete - he used it on a half dozen cars before he sold it to me, and i've used it on mine, so i guess it's unlimited - he didn't remember any limitations to it either

On the Durametric web site, for the Enthusiast Package, it says: "These packages are designed for the Porsche enthusiast that works on their own car. It offers all of the great features of our professional kit, but will only work on up to 3 cars (managed by VIN)." I'm guessing that it reads the VIN and after it's gotten three, it will only work with those three. Whether an of you "geeks" can get around that, I don't know.

can you point me to where it says that? i can't seem to find it, and it contradicts what pete says and has experienced (unless this is the pro pack and we don't know it)

The Durametric looks like a pretty slick tool - I may have to get one. What gets me is why the kit for the 68 is $60 more!? The user can access more data on a later car/DME yet the older 68 kit is more $$[??]. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif[/img]

I would guess that the 968 kit costs more because it also has the round diagnostic connector. So you're paying for the additionaly connector.
