ebay... what would you do?
#1

So I sold a Kills Bugs Fast poster on ebay original print and rare. They are now going for $50. I through in a so-so condition GT3 poster since I have a bunch of them. The Kills Bugs fast poster was in MINT condition in the same tube that it came in. I took it out only twice. When I bought it and when I took pics for the ebay auction. I rolled and slipped it into the tube (NO Rubberband). The guy gets it and immediatly emails me complaining that it is not in mint condition and he wants a refund. When I say mint condition I mean no creases tears, the same condition you would receive if it were being rolled up and given to you at a dealership. It was in collector condition. I disagreed with his claim but said I am a fair person and I will refund your money if you are not happy. So I get the poster back today in the same tube I sent it in. The tube is a hard thick poster tube the 5" dia size. It is in perfect condition no damage. I get the poster out and there are crease marks right down the center like the poster was bent while rolled. because it goes across the same area. Now I have pictures of the poster that I took for the ebay auction it immediately went into the tube.

So what would you do I am furious. I was trying to do the right thing. I know I did not send a damaged poster. I am very careful with these things. I have a collection of about 50 posters and the majority are mint. I just had a dozen of them framed. I told the guy I would be mailing the poster back to him and I can't give him a refund the poster is not in the condition I sent it. The tube is in perfect condition so the USPS did not do the damage.

I just don't know what else to do. I have a great rating on ebay 154 positive feedback so I am not worried about him giving me negative feedback. Ebay has been great so many good members but every once in a while you get stung.

All you have to do is be an honest person. Even good people get snubbed once in awhile; it doesn't make you a bad person. I think you have the right approach. Send it back to him, and keep the money.

Not everyone on ebay will be as honest as you are, his kid was probably playing on it or something.

Agreed, I wouldn't think twice about not refunding his money. If you know you sent it uncreased then thats all you can go by.

Without a doubt return it to the buyer, include the photo of the 'undamaged' ebay pic. And the same explaination...

There will always be that 0.05%, that will not be happy!!!

.... return it and forget it, don't let it bother you, I'm certain all here would trust in your validity!!!!

Example--If you were not concerned and open and honest, why would you even bring it up here?

He bent it make him pay for his carelessness! Many people today think they do not have to be responsible for their actions, just look at freeway driving habits.

Sometimes we have to make others responsible for their actions....if they do not have the personal integrity to do it themselves.

My son is the garden manager at Lowes Home Improvement Store, last week a customer brought back (returned) 4 large ficus trees and an arbor they bought the previous week.......Here it comes......they used them in an outdoor wedding and no longer needed them! AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH

I feel your pain, send it back to him and notify Ebay before he does, tell him you notified Ebay about his "scam", respond to his (inevitable) negative post with an explanation. Honest people will understand. Don't let him get away with burning you, he damaged it he should buy it. Personal responsibility.
