Drivers' Ed

Son #1 turns 18 this year, and though he is very easy going, he has decided that at some point he will actually need to learn how to drive. The family has had 5 different cars in the past 6 months and he had driven 3 up till yesterday. You guessed it. After picking up his permit from our wonderful DMV he and I headed out for a little lesson in how to stall a car and burn a clutch - in the 968. I thought his jaw would stick in the open position when I stopped the car and told him to get behind the wheel. After about 20 minutes of very slow , but very torqey motoring, he had a smile big as all outdoors. He thought he wanted a late model Civic hatch auto. Might just be looking for a 944..... instead. Great little road in SoCal if anyone is in the area. I call it the 968Ring. Google says 35 minutes - - - http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=...mp;t=h&z=12

Speaking of Driver's Ed - my son's birthday party was today, and his business partner gave him a 2-day Maserati "driver's ed" package in Parma, Italy. Now that's the kind of driver's ed I want to do.
