944 te 968 they alll have their charging unit in the same place , only difference , is the position with aircon installed , if not it is in the spot from the compressor .

I did work ony so many off these cars , and lost count , they should all have heat problems then ,  they don't , take the altenator out and send it out to get is fixed , and restored to orginal spec ,and it should work fine .

Somewhat off topic here but has anyone used an extension cord with a battery tender?

Yes, I have.  ( as in always, because the car has never been close enough to an outlet to use only the tender unit’s  cord )

And it’s a regular extension cord, not a heavy duty gauge one .

Thank you. Interestingly Enough with the 968 up on the lift, the cord is long enough to reach the outlet. I’ve had extra outlets placed throughout the garage with the rebuild. One of the design tweaks I added.

Excellent idea, one can never have enough of those in the garage .  That’s been on my to dos list for a while but I just procrastinate..

Is that environmentally sound in Ca. This means you might use more electricity that would otherwise be allocated to ev charging. There must be a rule or regulation for this.
