I have had Issues with K&N filters both air and Oil,

but that might just be me, I really don't like the oil covered air filters when there is a Hot Wire MAF or Hot Film MAF in the system,

Oil Filters are sometimes just a lot of hype, who is going to test them anyway

Porsche use Mahle so that's good enough for me, I also use Bosch, Fram and a few others, avoid Crossland, Mann and a few other cheapies, In Europe there is one factory that makes about 10 different makes of filter, all the same rubbish, just different colours names and labels

Over-oiling a K&N filter is a very common problem and can indeed cause major and expensive-to-fix issues.  It’s also easy to do that / difficult to precisely gauge just how much oil needs to be on it .   I have a K&N cone filter on my SCd 968 but I never sprayed any oil on it ; I do keep a K&N  micro-mesh cover over it ( I think they call it a  “sock” )  and it’s been perfectly effective.

I am not sure about the KN filter and the sock? I think I will stay with Malhe that Porsche dealer uses for now.

Yup, always a safe bet, so no downside to sticking with what  Porsche recommends for use .
