Well, no matter how far out I park the car, there is ALWAYS some idiot who decides to park right next door. Finally decided to take a picture. This seems to happen more often than not. Maybe its my fault for caring about the car. I parked way out there, the lot was only about 10% full in the first place! Usually it is an F-150 king cab, long bed, dually, sport, jacked up, F-350, noisy diesel with the motor running, monster tires, and a long hitch that sticks out where other cars can hit it. Typically, after parking, I do the glance back thinking "cool car", nobody next to me, and then come out of the store with a big surprise.
What do you guys think? Does this happen to you also?

Around here it's because 1) the driver wants to get his or her car in the shade, or 2) the belief that "a Porsche owner won't door-ding my car so I will park next to him (or her)".
Most of the time it seems to be people who care about their cars so they park next to someone whose car is safe. I know I try to park next to nice cars for the same reason, regardless of what I am driving.

or 3). Since our cars are smaller it makes the 2 adjacent spots look larger, and people would prefer those.

From the recent West Coast gathering of 968s. Bob took this while we were sleeping in. Thankfully, the Honda was gone when we went to leave. Some people!

Probably just a Grateful Dead fan who saw your plate, thought you might be Corrina, and wanted to "move in closer".

ibpesq,
The last asshole that did this to me had his drivers side front window broken out his vehicle place in neutral, parking brake released and pushed out into the middle of the parking lot. I left a note suggesting he learn how to park his POS SUV.
