Pull it out and check all the solder points on the circuit board. I replaced mine with a used one, but after I pulled out the old one I noticed one of the solder points failed, which was probably it's issue.

You do not need to pull the glove box but you do need to pull the trim piece. You also have to pull the cover off the HVAC control unit to expose the left most screws and mounting tab. That's what breaks most of the time. Wires will be tight, but everything is right there.
The display guage is NLA from what I've heard as well. North Hollywood Speedometer would probably be able to repair them. As for parts places, do a search and there are a few Porsche dismantlers that will come up.

In a related question. My thermometer keeps switching to Celcius...I push the button and it goes back to Farenheit. Someone remember how to correct this? A fuse if I recall???

I'm betting you celcius folk will find some bad solder points on the board...

My display switches off when the headlights are activated, I assumed Porsche designed it that way to not distract you while night driving. Once the headlights are off the display comes back on, but in celcius.
Is this not normal behavior?

When headlights are activated there is a bulb which turns on, yours (nad mine) are probably burned out.

You need to remove the plastic piece below the dash and above the glove compartment, in which the temperature gauge is located. Be careful, because they tend to break, especially on the left side.

The bulb is easy to change...once you get the display removed from the plastic trim piece! William, give me a ring/PM and I will be happy to talk you through it.
