Detail Day Success!
#1

I am soooo happy with how my car turned out. I will try to keep this about my car, but I think it's safe to say that all of us had huge success and really transformed our cars/saved their paint and brought it back to factory new(almost). I had dry scratchy lifeless paint. Now it's almost concourse ready As long as you only look at the paint.

Splotchy-ness is all gone. My roof was wrecked and somehow it looks new. To say the least, I never thought it would end up looking like it does now. I just hope that my pictures really show it.

My many thanks goes out to BVA and Flash for the help and also using their tools/knowledge.

And now I guess I have a question. So I know I don't need to clay bar every time. If I do decide to get a random orbital, how often would I use the polisher? I guess it's how often would I fully detail the car? It's my daily driver of 100 miles per day at the moment and I have time every weekend to detail should I really need to(which of course I probably wouldn't want to do). I don't want to hurt the paint by using polish to frequently.

Polish the car as needed, but should not be more than once per year or less if you keep up with washing the car periodically, you put a good wax/sealant on it and it's garage kept. I would clay every time you polish.

Stephen...car looks great and yes I can tell the difference in the photos. I'm sure it looks even better in person.

Any time you clay, you will need to re-polish, but let me clarify. Claying will not only remove contaminants, but will also take off any protection (sealer or wax) so if you don't have lots of swirls or things that need fixing, you can actually do a quickie "clay and shine" if the finish is still in good shape. The main thing you don't want to do is start rubbing wax on your car if it's not clean and smooth. You'll end up picking up small dirt particles and grinding them into the paint creating scratches and swirls.

Okay good to know and thanks for the information. Now after my one day of information, your post actually makes sense A couple days ago I would have never understood that. The Adams products brought life to my car. I am eager to see how long the wax holds up. The glass cleaner is what really surprised me. Also, we used some of the plastic cleaner(not sure if the exact name) and that did wonders to.
