Detail Day at Flash's
#1

it's that time of year again, and time to prepare for the annual Ventura German Autofest Oct 3&4 (see the thread about that)

i will again be hosting a detail day here at the house - bring your favorite wax - plenty of room here - E-Z-Ups and garage space for a number of cars all at once - those of you who have attended these before know that it's a great day and a fun hang out

as always, i have the buffer and a couple of orbitals, and all the other goodies

we'll have lessons given on how to clean the car, clay bar it, wax it, etc, as well as tips on how to keep it clean

i'm also planning a special product shootout test

i'm working out the details, but there is a fair chance of having a few bikini clad girls doing car washes (this part will not be free)

i can arrange to have a paintless dent guy here, but won't if i don't have enough guaranteed business for him - he will work out package deals and such, but i won't spin his wheels - they usually charge $100 a panel, but i should be able to work that down with limits on how many dents per panel

i can probably also have the on site wheel repair guy here too, but same deal as with the dent guy - he usually gets between $100 and $150 a wheel

saturday sept 19th

starts around 9 am - email me for directions (if you haven't already been here)

pop open a cold one and pour a little out for your East coast hommies.

Have fun and post pics. Interested in the wax results as well. What parameters did you have in mind? And outside of intial shine, I think the true test is how well water beads after a few weeks.

Great idea.

So if were all in agreement here, I guess Flash wont be gracing the month of Jan and Dan has now lost his spot for Feb.

Your cars however are highly anticipated.

I could certainly be persuaded to host the "east coast" version here at my place. Between detailing and repair stuff, my shop is usually full these days since I have a mechanic I've partnered up with, but that only adds to the fun as you never know what we may have in house. Currently, a Testarossa, 355 Berlinetta, '70 MB 280SL, '76 Rolls Silver Shadow, '68 911, my fleet, and my mechanics Audi 1.8T.

My dent guy is awesome and I'm sure he'd be up for it. I've even got a photographer friend who'd jump at the chance...uh, oh yeah, need girls first!!

If there is interest, let's start a new thread.....Rhude, Cosimo, PorscheDude, John, anyone from PA, DE or NJ ?
