Hi troops, I've just fallen foul of the snail's pace burocrazy that is the French car registration system. Some months back I applied for "collector status" because my 968 is now over 30. A significant benefit of this is that emissions are no longer tested, and the testing interval expands to every 5 years instead of every 2 years.
Anyway, status quo endured and my car was tested at the two year interval and just failed its emissions :whine:
Looking underneath I see no sensor, and on further reading discover that's okay, the engine management just runs a little richer. Again, no problem when one is living in the Middle East .... I'm not sure I saw an emissions test in the dozen years I was there.
So now if France the cat's out of the bag (I just had to get that one in    ) and I'm probably up for a new convertor.
But before I do I thought I'd try installing the oxygen/lambda sensor ..... but where?? I've had a look at threads here/other fora but the nearest I've found is S2 wiring.
PLEASE CAN ANYONE SHOW ME WHERE THE SENSOR WIRING ENTERS THE LOOM?? Here's what I'm working with ......
The bung appears to be in decent condition; but of course it may shatter under stress.
I thought this was the loom entry point (black sleeve with grey stripe) but it turned out to be the cam position (I think).
Any advice/direction appreciated.
Have a good weekend,
Robo
