Design 1 Racing is proud to announce that we will now be selling our products direct to the customer on an all new E-Commerce website. This will provide for faster turnaround and better customer service than ever before. This will also allow for an across the board lowering of prices, due to reduced marketing costs.



The site is complete with a Shopping Cart, allowing for a smooth and simple transaction. Just Click and Go. We accept all major credit cards, and are working on accepting PayPal. Your items will ship within 48 hours in most cases. Standard shipping is UPS ground. We are working on being able to provide other methods as well. Appropriate shipping charges and local taxes apply.



For those of you who don't know, there is a full product line of performance parts for your 968. There are even some parts that fit the 944. There will be more parts being added as soon as we think of them.



As always, Design 1 Racing strives to manufacture and sell the best quality parts for the lowest prices. We also strive to have the most interactive customer service relationships possible. Please do not hesitate to drop us a line with a suggestion as to how we can make your experience better, improve on an existing product, or provide something new that is missing.



Most parts will be kept in stock, though some of them do have lead times. We are currently restocking, and expect all items to be in stock in 2 weeks. Some will be in stock before that. Please contact us for more information on delivery times and stock.

This is outstanding news! So your plans to get out of the parts business appear to have been very short-lived; reminds me of the scene from The Godfather (Part 3, I believe) where Al Pacino says, "Every time I want to get out, they pull me back in..." This is really great news for the FEWCFCP (Front Engine Water Cooled Four Cylinder Porsche) community.



Also, I find it interesting that you just happen to have, of all things, the supercharger on display on the site. Could this mean that rumors of round 2 being the curtain call for the SC are at best on shaky ground...?

I have been a very proud supporter of both RS Barn and Design1Racing...the phrase that immediately comes to mind is "divide and conquer". There will be more parts for more people with different driving styles, formats and desires.

lol - yeah - looks like i'm going to be doing this for a while - i was on the fence, and had to make a decision between expanding or quitting - i've had to make that decision before - in the past, i have chosen to quit - this time, i have chosen to expand - you can expect to see more things added to the line very soon - i already have 4 more to add as soon as i can finish tweaking the site a bit more on the things already there



re: the SC - yes, it's there - i currently have 2 units that were as a result of cancelled orders - whether or not there is a batch 3 remains to be seen - i don't have a problem doing them, but we have to wait for enough people to line up

Something that supports consumables so it can be sold more than once would be good. It's hard to make money on such a small and ever-shrinking market (no new 968's being made and every year more go to the junkyard due to age, accidents and neglect).



Set up a deal with Pelican to offer a full DIY kit with part numbers (and all necessary parts) and instructions for belts. One maybe for hoses, too. A replacement flex dampener for the tip transmissions. A known good repair kit for front bumpers for the repeat members of the Plank Club (and black honeycomb grills)... Wheel offsets with known tires pre-selected because figuring all that @!# out is too much work. Trim kits for double-DIN stereos (fitting that center console area by hand is a !@#). A subwoofer kit that fits in the back cubbies, or the fender wells, or? A wiring kit that provides several fuse-protected 12V taps from the battery into the cockpit for all the stuff we're powering nowadays - some always on, some on with the key, etc.



There are a lot more things I would do with my car if I didn't have to do so much research and wade through so much opinion. How many times have you started reading a 15 page thread with a big idea at the beginning, only to find it gutted and shown to be pretty much worthless by the time you get to page 7 or 8?
