I did my recurrent at FlightSafety in Orlando the last week and since I had some time off I visited Kennedy SC and then Daytona. OMFG that racetrack is huge!!! I've only seen it on TV and in movies (can you say Days Of Thunder?) and I wanted to get the real feel of it. My hats off to you Americans, sometimes you REALLY get things right! If only my darned Training Manager had put me up for training a little bit later...

Try walking or driving the track sometime, the banking on that track is pretty crazy, you really can't appreciate it till you are on the track looking up the bank.

Had the chance to be the gopher for Larry Schumacher's Porsche GT2 team a few years back for Daytona. It was quite an experience to work through the night. We ended up second in class. Very exciting.

Going to be there Friday and Saturday. Get there early (by 9am) if you want to park in the PCA Porsche lot. Theres only room for 200 cars. first come-first serve. Our club has the Hospitality duties at the Porsche PCA tent from 11:30-2:30 on Saturday.

I plan to get there on Friday and not leave until Sunday. Getting into the infield on Saturday is almost impossible if you don't get there really early. I'll look for your car if you planning on bringing it.

I have Hospitality passes and parking thru Continental so my son and I are driving the Nissan. Then I don't care who opens their door on it. Parking should be close to the door.

Pretty cool weekend. Continental was giving rides in new BMW M3's with the BMW driving school instructors . My son and I both went out on one. First time he ever went over the 150mph mark. Drvers were power sliding thru the corners and got right up on the wall from NASCAR #1 thru #2 at 150 mph plus. Really cool. Sat in the Home Depot Loge right next to the Speed Channel announcers. Great way to see the race. Too bad my Flying Lizard team got so far behind early..........
