dash light repair
#21

Hi all, hope you're all still enjoying your 968's over the half decade since the last post in this thread! I've searched the forum and still at a loss for 3 answers:

1. Has anyone had an issue where only the gauge illumination lights are out and all the indicator lights and other illuminated areas of the dash (cigarette lighter, etc.) are still alit and dimming properly? Is it all-or-nothing, or are the gauge illumination lamps that common to die without affecting anything else? YUP, Happens all the time.

2. Is there a cluster removal step-by-step process? I've read many of the threads and only hear of the fixes after it's been removed. I read (somewhat anecdotally) in a post that the steering wheel needed to be removed? Search the internet for Clark's Garage, an unbelievably useful tool for our 968s

3. Has anyone done a full dash replacement or used one of the "custom molded" solutions to cover theirs? My '93 cab's dash is toast and hiding beneath a cheap-ass fabric cover... that has to change. Full Dash Replacement has been done, but a real PITA, dash cover may be easier depending on skill level.

THANKS!
