So I finally got to pick up my car yesterday. Very excited. Many things fixed besides the SC install. Wipers now work, A/C blows cold... several things corrected. Opened, the hood, took in the glory of the SC, charged the battery real quick.... and took off down the road. About 15-20 miles down the road, after getting on the highway (and well after the 100km/under 4000rpms break-in phase) - sputtering and sooty black smoke coming out the exhaust. Initial thought was compression or something affecting the gas/air mix.... but no clue what it was. Especially with the multitude of things that just got touched in the shop. I called the shop, they suggested maybe water got in the fuel from sitting for a month. I decided that since the problem wasn't getting worse - and I was now 50% through my trip home - that I would press on and call Flash when I got home.
I called Flash and we had it figured out in about 5 minutes with me standing with the hood open. Can you see the problem? We got a good chuckle out of it, I fixed the issue (see second pic), and went back out on the road for about 5 minutes. HUGE difference, and the response I expected from laying down the hammer. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!! Can't wait to get it out on the highway for real this time!
Many thanks to Flash for his expertise and personal attention to each and every one of his followers and customers. The world would be a better place if it were filled with Flashes!!!
