Custom exhaust recommendations
#1

I'm going to need to have an exhaust fabricated for my frankenstein (924S with 968 engine). I have the headers and had planned the two go from the two headers into one 3" exhaust pipe and finish it with a supertrapp for tunability.

The problem is that I don't know squat about exhausts <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> So I'll take any suggestions that you may have. Here are some of the parameters:

1. track-dedicated car

2. although racing is in my future, I currently and will continue to do many DEs. The problem is that many of the tracks do not allow "race engines" on Sunday mornings. So will the Supertrapp be too loud?

The 3 " header back doesn't work . I tried it. I have a few suggestions for you based on noise requirements.

Give me a call tomorrow to discuss,

Pete

Tim, I ran a Supertrapp muffler on my 924S and again on my 944S2. Yes, it will be too loud unless you take out all or almost all of the discs to make it run quieter and then it will seem as if the exhaust is too restricted to allow the engine to breathe freely. I recommend using something like the Walker or Flowmaster muffler instead. This will be quiet enough not to be offensive and still alllow the engine to breathe. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.
