Cup Holder
#21

yes! no matter how much somebody might want to think that it is, the 968 is not a sports car, even in cab form - it is a GT - as such, longer drives are expected, as well as all of the creature comforts that it comes with

Boy with all the drinking youse guys do, how do you handle the next obvious call from nature. My brother brings along a bottle in case he is stuck in traffic. What's the etiquette for this situation? A second cup holder color coded? Lol

It's a third cup holder. The first one holds my coffee, the second one holds the one I spit my tobacco juice into, and the third one is marked "relief pitcher".

I was once in a Porsche dealership when they told me that nonsense about cupholders and driving. So it's okay to have a cigarette and drive?? (as we all have ashtrays in cars)

Yea but it's manly to drive with a cigarette in your mouth like the Marlboro Man <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />. Oh, yea, he's dead but not from inattentive driving.

My driving is much more "spirited" after my morning Red Bull (had to give up coffee - it was destroying my stomach)...

Sorry to be late to the cup holder discussion of 2011 but there's an inventor who has come up with a design for a cup holder for a 944 that slides up under the plastic housing on the center tunnel. He's adapting it for a 968 when he gets time. Until then I just bring a sports bottle with a flip top as I'm a klutz and will drop the bottle's screw top.

I tuck a bottle of water behind my seat. Otherwise no food or beverage of any kind (in an open container) is allowed in my 968.

JMHO,

I saw a black cup holder at West Marine a few months back. It was very similar to the one found on the BMW Z4. Unfortunately you have to screw it into the center councel on the passengers side foot rest.

It may not be the best option, but I agree that at least 1 cup holdere is needed, otherwise you are wedging a hot cup of coffee between your legs as you drive and shift - a recipe for disaster!

Do you have a link for the 944 one. Can't imagine what would need to be adapted.
