Cup Holder Idea
#21

Here's one "creative" guy's idea for a cupholder!

O.K., I give up. Can someone please let me in on the secret of how to post a picture? I've looked at the tutorial (just tells me the size allowed, not "how to"), ran searches, tried everything I could think of. I know there must be a way as everyone else does it. HELP!!!!

of course you have to use the full editor, but if you are still having problems, it's probably a size problem. at the moment, you have to resize pics to less than 250k

How do I use the "full editor"? I tried clicking on "my media" and "image" above. That didn't work. Looked in the tutorial for "full editor". Nothing there. What's next?

You need to click on the "More Reply Options" button at the bottom right-hand of the reply box. Then you will see the "Attach Files" location with an "Attach This File" button at the bottom left-hand corner. Go through the steps and we will "see" what you are trying to "show"!

Thanks. O.K., here's another attempt. If this works, below will be a new cupholder solution:

That's it SO patentable! I think I'll mock one up out of a nice black cloth and put a strap and hook on the other end into the defrost vent! An you can remove it and store it so you don't have to bump into it if you only use it a few times a year.

As a wise man once told me: the only two things you need to fix anything in life are duct tape and WD40. If it moves, and it's not supposed to, use duct tape. If it doesn't move, and it's supposed to, use WD40. So, when your cup moves, and you don't want it to: duct tape to the rescue!

I see bad things happening at the first sharp corner with that one,...

But then, I also see dead people. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Tama Halloween is over or are you now doing funeral directing on the side? As an aside I used to date a mortician.

Tama, no bad things on corners, that's the beauty of centripetal force and a duct tape gimbal <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

I'm afraid, as shown, a full cup of coffee would have the majority of the weight over the top of the tape roll, and that means it would "gimbal badly".

Since I recently complained about the lack of cupholders on the thread about the best 968 features, I felt it was my duty to solve the problem. I took a "Bell" brand drink holder ($1.99 at most auto stores) that is supposed to fit in the window channel - removed the piece that fits into the channel - drilled a hole in the top of the drink holder - and attached it to a "Gator Clip" (available in most home improvement stores) with a plastic trim screw. I can hang it on the door pocket with the Gator clip. It holds securely and no mutilation of the car is necessary!
