First to address the topic - the original thermo fan switch for the radiator is Porsche part number 951-606-481-00. My original one was proudly made in Germany, however, I was not able to decipher the manufacturer's name from the logo. If you don't want to stick to the Porsche original product the replacement is being made by Wahler, Facet, Febi and other companies. The switch is VW/Audi product fitting Audi 2.5 TDI and various VW Golf and Passat engines. Replacement VW product code is 251 959 481. I purchased the one made in Italy by Facet (EPS brand). Product barcode 1.850.626, ID "thermo fan switch", cost EUR10.
Second - electrical trouble shooting guide by John in the Forums DIY library is the best thing trying to diagnose electrical issues relating to the cooling system. Followed it step by step, eliminating possible causes and ended up with a faulty thermo switch. After replacement all is back to normal, cooling fans kick in at a low speed and no more climbing of the white arrow above 9 o'clock mark on the dash.
