Hey John, I have the one that came off of my 968 when I replaced the clutch and pressure plate 2 years ago. It worked fine, and feels exactly like the new one that I had installed.
I picked my new one up from EBS Racing, they were one of the only places that knew the difference between the green strip (incorrect) and the blue strip (correct) pressure plates.

Installed a new one , and correct one , had the wrong one in there before , the right feel , and works perfect .
The nr's that mather are stamped one the(black) fingers of the pressure plate , the colord stripe , forget about it (not used anymore ) , my supplier told me , they have been in Porsche parts for 50years , family run operation , they know there stuf ,
Correct 147 308 SKI 2 18
Incorrect 147 610 SSL 1 08

Quote:OK. Thanks vliegwielolaf1234.
The number on the one I have is 147 612 SAX 10 14. So, I still don't know what I have...
Plan A: install new PP and it works like it should
Plan B: new PP doesn't work, so I put the old one back on with new friction disk and a resurfaced PP or at least scuffed-up
The nbr's on your old plate are of no use , they are not made anymore , unless it is a old stock pressure plate , there is no match in the nbr's
I had the same problem when i needed a new clutch , i got one wich they listed as correct online , but it was not , very hard pedal , so i went to my old trusted supplier , and told him the problem , they said this is the one you need , right clamping force etc , and they where right .
They have them in stock , but sending it to the usa , is expensive

Mail them with your problem , ad a picture of the new clutch you allready bought , give them all the nbr's on the plate if they are not visible .
They will let you know if it is oke to use , or if it is the wrong one .
ALPO – Parts for Porsche – Onafhankelijke specialisten in Porsche onderdelen
website in dutch , they have no online store , call or mail .
In my case the send me the parts , and i pay them after they have arrived , overseas will be differrent , but just to give you an idea .

They really are great in knowledge and assisting customers.
@vliegwielolaf1234, how much did yours cost more or less?
Regards,
Jack.

I have one that I replaced a few years ago. It was fine, the disc had just worn out so I did the whole thing.
