Consumer warning posted about Stage 3. lol
#1

A east coast consumer has reported a troubling trend with the new stage three supercharger. It seems that depending upon the pressure exerted on the throttle that there may be instances where the car's rate of speed increases quite rapidly. In many instances, consumers find themselves actually travelling much faster than they are aware of before they become aware of their current speed. The increase is often not discernible to the consumer unless they are monitoring their speedometer. The monitoring of the speedometer is in itself another problem resulting from this increased throttle pressure due to tendency of the mouth to open wide in an upward fashion thereby causing the eyes to squint. This squinting manifestation has shown itself in many instances to reduce the field of view. This has caused ongoing approximate difficulties with the legal and financial communities. Consumers are hereby warned that unimpeded concentration needs to be constantly maintained in order to manage this troubling trend! lol Rap

since that's also consistent with a west coast consumer's experience, this is now a very valuable public service anouncement / warning.

+ 1 on thx for the smiles

Funny!

Do I read between the lines that you may have "broken the law" and that has brought some financial consquences? Just wondering... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

not this west coast consumer ! my one and ONLY speeding ticket was way back in 1987 ( in my 944 at the time..) and I have every intention to keep that trend going for another 26 years , road gods willing...

those of you that know me must be shaking their heads in total disbelief at the lack of traffic violations ( perhaps even with disgust and / or envy..) but there is a very simple not-so-secret secret to it : never speed on city streets, always have a radar detector on when driving on highways, and speed only for as brief of a time and distance as humanly possible, to get your thrill - the longer you sustain high speeds the probability of getting caught raises on an exponential scale with every passing second..IMO.

Yes indeed although I don't know the financial fine yet. I must say that I'm impressed with your perceptiveness! To add insult to injury I had just gotten gas and had turned the radar detector off and had forgotten to put it back on. Stupid me! Again all my fault!

+1 from the Midwest. I got the stage 3 stuff on and was out last night testing the fuel pump and was surprised to look down at the speedometer and be at 80mph!!!

Speak for yourself, LOL. Smooth does not translate into "better yet" in my book. I prefer the peaks, and that " kick " on acceleration which is missing now. Not that I would ever go back to the N/A 968 , now that I've gotten a taste of what the SC does to this car, but I would like the SC performance AND the old sensation that came with the acceleration peaks and and shifting at 7200 rpm. Yes dammit I want to have my piece of cake and eat it too !

Are you the only one who shifted at 7200? Besides the track guys, myself excluded.

I'm pretty sure everyone with a Racer X chip in their 968 shifted around 7200 or even above that ( although there was no more power beyond 7200, so futile to let it go past that point..)

No power on a NA after 6,700...the rest is just over run...

So I guess it was a camera that got you, seeing as how you don't know the fine yet.

yup - that chip continued to make power up around 7100.

i kept the redline at stock level for the SC though, as the valves would float beyond that if under boost. they are already beginning to float at about 6200 at 5lbs boost.

Rude I was given the favor of violating a local speed device. So the judge somehow decides the fine. No speeding ticket!
