color match the coupe trunk edge?
#1

I have a silver coupe and I am going to have the black spoiler painted to match the silver. But it occurred to me to also paint the strip under the spoiler - there is a strip or "frame" that outlines the hatch and actually houses the third brake light. I think I'm going to have it painted to match as well. This strip actually continues on around each side of the back glass all the way up to the top. I think I want to paint it as well. I thought I would throw that idea out there and see if anyone has any strong opinions about it and if maybe someone has seen it before and has any pictures of it. Thanks!

The factory turbos had the frame and wing painted body color. I think it helps blend some of the cut lines back into the body and simplify the shape.

That looks really good. I may have mine done now as i just bought a new trim piece for the rear hatch, and have not installed it.

I owned a '94 guards red coupe and had the spoiler and trim pieces painted. It looked fantastic! Leaving it as original those pieces looked like they were just "stuck on" as an after thought as opposed to being part of the design. Well worth the cost.

I own a black coupe now and will probably have them painted as well. The dull matte finish on the spoiler and trim although black still bothers me. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Sounds good....good examples - thanks for that. I'm excited to see my silver one with it. I think the silver will really work well doing that. I'll post some pics when its done. I should have it done in about 2-3 weeks or so.

funny - here's an example of how people think differently - i like the accent colors - i tend to think these cars, especially the hatchbacks, are too monochrome - i'm actually contemplating painting my splitter on my cab black - i think the lighter colors (like silver white and yellow) really benefit from the accents

and that is why we have choices
