Color code
#1

Where do I find the color code? The sticker in the engine bay is gone. I thought it would be in the boot under the carpet. If anyone knows the code for Adventurine (Adventura) green, please let me know. Thanks

The sales code for aventurine (no "d") is K6. The paint code for the color is either L39R or L39S (I've seen both.

You can find the sales code on the window sticker.

You can find the paint code on the vehicle information sticker, located stuck to the floor underneath the carpet or on page 2 of the maintenance manual.

You can find both codes on the small silver sticker next to the fuse box in the engine compartment along with the german name for the color.

Cosimo-

I just went out to my car (home with a feverish child today <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> ) and it is L39S, not L39R as I assumed above.

Not sure what the differenc is and I should have looked first before I posted.

I bought some touch-up from Paint Scratch a few years ago- I just went to their website, and they have both L39S and L39R listed as choices. You definitely want to find your code, if you can, and get the right paint. Check right behind the trunk carpet for the options sticker as Jeff mentions.

Worst case would be to buy the two different paints in the touch-up bottles and try each on a relatively hidden stone chip to see which matches.

Hope this helps a little....

Nope, it has to do with the water based paint formula. There are a number of 968 colors that used two versions (and two codes) of the paint. Bob, your midnight blue is one of them, L37W and L39C. Which one do you have?

Not necessarily. Although most of the 2 code colors are 94/95 metallics the 92 color only, 59 turquoise metallic has two codes as well, L25D and L25C. It is the only 92/93 with two codes that I have seen so far.

MIne is also a 95. Bio, I know you have the same color and year so I know it's correct. I ordered the paint with L39R. So we will see how it matches. Jeff you have way too much information. Just kidding. You are a great resource for this forum.

rxter, the interior color code you will find on the option sticker in the trunk as well as the option sticker in the maintenance journal. If you have a COA or original Window sticker, it would be listed in either.

And remember, the interior code tells you two pieces of information, the color of the interior AND the type (partial leather, full leather, cloth, ect). There were 100 different interior codes available on the North American 968 during its 4 years of production.

Some of the popular codes are:
LT for partial leather in black
LC for partial leather in cashmere/black
PJ for partial leather in marble grey/black

Rxter,

The code is TT for classic gray partial leather. You can find the code on your vehicle information sticker which is located on page 1 of your maintenance manual or stuck to the left of your trunk floor.
