Code check
#1

After reading a couple of posts I tried my first shot at code test. Put ignition in on position depressed accelerator, engine light came on, released pdeal slowly, engine light continued to blink slowly no codes showed up, just the engine light coninuing to blink, is that how it is supposed to be?
Or are the codes supposed to flash through?

Theres short ones and longer ones. The second blink could be a long one for "Constant Fault" or 2-shorts for an "Intermittant Fault" .

I thought code numbers were supposed to come up.
Like for air sensor etc.

Constant fault or intermediate fault of what the code checking system?

the "blinks" come in clusters and have gaps between them - the "numbers" correspond to clusters of blinks

for example, a 1-5 (all good) would be a single short blink, a gap, and then 5 short blinks

The "Blink Code" log is listed in:

1) Triage and Diagnosing
2) Electrical Gremlins
3) Very first post by Flash; "Performing Blink Test".

Only "blinks" of the "Check Engine" light transform to the codes.
