clearance between two rollers...???
#1

In the picture, see the roller labeled (1)...

Now see the line labeled (2)...

(not my car in the pic)

Here's the question - I take off roller when and adjust my balance belt, when done I can't remember if there is a certain "clearance" between it and the roller below the red line.

I know it can't be touching, and has to have at least "some" clearance, but what's the correct clearance?

Please tell me how to do it right!

Based on what I recall from ~1.5 years ago....the manual doesn't state any clearance between that idler pulley and the lower balance shaft pulley; it only states the clearance between the idler pulley and the balance belt which IIRC is ~.5mm. It takes some time to get it right (since there is a lot of play in the adjustment). I think I ended up with about 3mm between the idler pulley and the belt rapped around the lower balance shaft pulley (you aren't going to get any belt hop there, so any reasonable clearance will do). Hope this helps.

Clearance between the lower balance shaft belt and balance shaft belt roller is .5mm or .020 inches.

I just did mine sunday. I used a feeler gauge to set the clearance.
