From the back of the starting grid? Are the rumours true? Sounds like an amazing drive! Congrats Jim!

Hey Norman! How'd things go for you? You guys that made it to the NASA Championships are practically celebrities. How much fun is THAT!

Yes, I ended up finishing 2nd in GTS2 in the championship race. I was the first or second fastest car in class all weekend, but unfortunately I was unable to complete the second qualifying race when my main rival for the GTS2 championship hit me from behind on the first lap and flattened my left rear tire. I had to start at the back of the field in the championship race because of this. I passed 26 cars on my way to second place, but by the time I got there the GTS2 leader was 12 seconds ahead, and there were only two laps to go. I would have needed a lot more laps or a FCY to catch him. Racing from the back was a lot of fun, and it made for some great in-car video, but it would have been a lot better to start up front where the car belonged with a realistic shot at the GTS2 win.

Mike Ward also ran very well in his GTS2 968, turning times at the sharp end of the field all weekend. He was running in the top 3 for most of the championship race, but had a problem on the last lap and ended up finishing 5th.

Wow, great picture! Yes, that's Mike chasing the eventual GTS2 winner Mark Weining. This must have been taken during the first couple of laps of Sunday's race.

Here is some video of the first few laps of the GTS race. The video begins right before they throw the green flag.
