Do any of you own a Cayenne S? I am looking at a 2004 with 45,000 km. Does not have the air suspension. Are there any known bad things about this vehicle in the first year of production (it was actually built in March 2003 so it is probably one of the very first ones).

I loved mine, as soon as my lease is up on the Denali I am getting a CTT. There were some issues. I would check Rennlist.com Cayenne forum. There are a bunch of Cayenne die hards on that board. The one I can remember is the front end vibration problem. It was experienced by many.

I have a Cayenne S. It's terrific. I don't know of any specific problems, but haven't worried too much about it, as mine is under warranty for the next four years or so. As with all vehicular purchases, a PPI is a wise investment. Let me know if you get it. I predict you'll fall in love with it if you do.

Looking at it on Friday. 42,000 km and under extended warranty until either late 2009 or 160,000 km.

Agreed to buy it at asking price. It was not owned by the dealer but was being sold by them for a private owner. He upped the price by $5000 when he got my offer - I guess he thought I was too willing! I still have only the two 968's as a result (but don't feel bad for me - it's a terrible position to be in but I have strong shoulders!).

Drop it like a hot brick.



Make sure they have your phone number, and let them know you're looking at other cars. Maybe there is an X5 that has caught your attention, or your friend's uncle has one he wants to sell...



For two reasons. 1) People who play games with selling prices like that need to learn a lesson. and 2) your best chance of buying it at the offerred price is to get into the armchair and ignore them. If they think you're going away and looking at other cars or losing interest, they might realise that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.



You also have to ask yourself what other dishonesty is going on with that car. If you do land up buying it, make sure you get a thorough and independant PPI.

I agree with au968 on the price hike. Thats an old dealer trick to get more $$$.
