Butter and tar
#1

Have any of your heard of the trick of using butter (or peanut butter) to remove tar? This is something my brother in law told me a few days ago (he read it in some magazine a while back). Well I just tried it, and it worked!

I have an old stick of butter in my fridge which has been sitting around for a couple of months and I don't want to eat it anymore. Well, I filled a container with some hot water + soap, got a clean rag, and headed down to the car. Upon my arrival I set everything down and proceeded to scoop a gob of butter on my finger and smear it on the paint. To my amazement the tar (fresh tar I might add) came off almost instantly just by swirling my finger around. Old tar spots which required more abrasion than my finger nail could provide will require more work and detailing, but after I wiped the surface with the hot soapy water the tar was gone without a trace!

And here I was worried about using some chemical cleaners and risk damaging my paint. Woo! That stick of butter is now officially my new tar remover

Well, fine, if you want a 968 with congestive heart failure.

I never heard about using it for tar, but peanut butter works for getting dried wax from rubber trim.
