!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WTF do I do!!!!&#33
#1

Saga continues,

Shop calls they have my wheels back from being fixed (some other thread about how this shop Effed them up in the first place). He said got bad news for you... He pulled the wheels out of the box and their are still scratches on both wheels!!!!!! I am furious to say the least, I was speechless. He said he would have the service expedited blah blah blah. I got off of the phone.

I gathered myself and called the shop back, explained that I have been borrowing cars getting rides ect... he comes back what do you want a rental car? Yeah that would be great. Well I can't authorize that. WTF. I told him to get his store manager (out of the office today) on the phone that this is not working for me!!! I am so pissed someone please give me some ideas \ something ...

other info:

Goodyear tire center (I know but i used to know the manager before he retired) messed up the wheels while mounting tires, they sent them to Tognotti's (spelling?) auto center to be fixed, Tognotti's sends them somewhere else to be done I later learned.

If it was cost effective, I'd send you my extra set of 17" Cup IIs w/ tires to use. Is there anyone around you that has an extra set of wheels lying around?

Hang in there.

It's a great thought but I'd rather not inconvinience anyone else but the shop that messed them up in the first place.

To make matters worse, I talked to the shop in the middle and the guy told me that he specially checked them out befor Goodyear came to pick them up and that they had no flaws <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> , he is blaming Goodyear for scratching them. So my guess is that the shops are going to get into a pissing match and I'm gonna get screwed even more since they won't rush them through. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

first i would immediately get on the phone with goodyear corporate - you won't get anywhere with the individual store

eric - we might be able to set up a rendezvous with dan - he's down here right now in an SUV - if he has space, he might be willing to drag them up that way if josho could meet him somewhere in the bay area

If it works for Josho, it works for me. The tires aren't great, but will be fine for summer driving.

I like the corprate idea.

Really the thought is genuine and thank you very much but I'd really rather not hassle with other people's stuff. I can manage without my car for another week, it's just hard being without her. Thank you again for your offer. I'm sure the offset on our wheels is not too comon that they would have something in stock to throw on my car, Hmmm I'l try anyway.

cool

yeah, you'll probably get much beter results from corporate - impress upon them the hassle of the extra time, and more importantly the COST of the extra time - they need to take care of you for that inconvenience - unfortunately, if you don't rent a car, you have no receipt to submit for reimbursement

you can probably get the work done for free though

Most Goodyear stores are locally owned, so corporate will not be helpful. I've had similar problems, but I was not successful getting any thing done. It's makes me mad every time I think about it.

would have been glad to help, were it that I could, but that SUV was packed with more luggage than the Clampetts' car.

actually, they are franchise stores and still controlled by corporate - it's the same with any franchise, such as a porsche dealership - if you don't get satisfaction from the store, you can go to corporate, and you should have success there, but it will take considerable effort - they generally want you to seek out the store owner - it may take a call from an attorney - they don't want any of their franchisees to be misrepresenting the company - they are pretty tight on what a store owner can and cannot do (right down to the paint scheme) - they also keep a pretty tight rein on operations - it is, however, a major barrieer to overcome, and expect to spend a lot of time on the phone

i went through this same kind of nightmare with another chain tire store - it took a while, but i got it handled through corporate, and now, as a result, that store no longer exists, and that owner is no longer able to have a franchise with that chain

Well I have one good wheel now <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

One of the wheels had bad orange peel in the paint and pot marks. WTF

Is it time to give up yet? Not sure what else I can do, yelling at Goodyear at this point seems like a dead end since it's the wheel shop now and not them delaying this. I called a local Dealership and new these wheels cost 769.95 each, and their are several available in the US. I think they should buy me new ones. I am at a loss for words now, I really have had enough.

Get an estimate from a reputable body shop, get the cash from the wheel place and deal with it yourself. Where are they having these wheels "fixed"? Someones garage?

Josho, this is exactly what Lawyers are for! Get a good attorney, let them handle it and relax, good luck, Bob Blackwell.

i've spoken to josho on the phone, and i think he has a plan of attack now

the problem is that , even with full replacement, unless he can prove other real damages, it's going to be limited to small claims court, and you can't bring an attorney in with you there - you can hire one as a consultant, but that's it - you would easily end up spending more money on the case than replacing the wheels

fortunately, this store turns out to be a corporate one - follow the food chain up to somebody who doesn't want to lose customers and satisfaction is possible - it will just take some good phone calls

I spoke with the District manager this morning and he was un aware of the situation and very eager to resolve it, he personally called the shop (Precision Wheel in Sacramento) today and I should get the wheel tomorrow. The guy slipped on the phone and that's how I ended up finding out that Tognotti's Auto uses Precision Wheel to do their repairs. So if their is a list of vendors not to use I would put Precision Wheel on it. I feel that Goodyear is doing an honest job at this point of doing what they can to get my wheels fixed "right" and Precision happens to do horrible work. We'll see tomorrow if I get it back. I have my fingers crossed but I don't think I'll be holding my breath.
