I'm looking at a '92 968 at a dealership in Greenville, NC. I'm in the DC area, so I had a trusted and knowledgable friend take the car for an enthusiastic test drive today. Cosmetically the car is very nice for 85K miles. Mechanically the car seems very strong and solid with the exception of some notable rear end noise. From my brief research on this site, 968.net, and Rennlist, it sounds like rear Pinion Gear issues - a fairly common and fairly expensive issue.
Does anyone know of a mechanic/shop in the Greenville, NC area that I could refer to for a PPI?
