When the Cab top is in the lowered position, what is the general measured gap between the roof frame and the boot?

yeah - it sticks up quite a bit - never have figured out why they did that, other than to preserve the back seat area - when i get around to changing my top, which will be likely this winter as a couple of stitches have popped and while the canvas and back window are great and i want it all perfect, i will look into a mod that will lower it farther



of course that will mean a new boot cover, which isn't a huge ordeal, and since i'm making a tonneau and a zip out rear window on the new top, will just b another job for the upholsterer, but it all adds up

When my top is lowered, its about an inch from the boot. In the tech manual, it says 50mm, but the picture shows the top about as low as mine. I ask, becuase I saw an 944S2 that was about 2 inches from the boot lid.

interesting - mine won't go that low, even in manual mode, due to the "packing shelf" in the rear

The first and only time (so far) that I have lowered my top, it did not go that low either. I'll have to take a photo to see just how low it goes!



Note to self- play Chubby Checker Limbo song while lowering top for full effect...

the ROW cars have back seats... maybe that affects the settings...

i don't think it would, but in that event i would think the top should sit HIGHER, not lower, so as to keep it from pushing forward and keep it out of the way of the passengers

Here is what mine looks like... the hood folds rather nicely and does not interfer with the back seats.

That looks noticeably lower than I think mine goes - I'll take a look once the storms are past.
