Cab peeps

I still use my top electrically. When I go to put it down and press the button there is a screeching noise from the engine, sounds like a fan belt screech. Not sure how the top being put down would create the noise. Anyone run into this or have an idea what it might be. All my fan belts were replaced about a year ago.

Thx

I think a loose alternator belt can squeal when the electrical system is under heavy load, maybe the additional load of the roof motors is enough and it just needs tightening up?

Correct, and it may also indicate that the battery is getting old or that the grounds are in need of cleaning.

You might also investigate from the other end of the problem ..... Is your roofing system creating unnecessarily high load? Does it happen in both directions? Do the joints/gears need lubing/aligning. I too use mine electrically, so far without problems, but am aware that many disconnect the winding mechanism. Good luck.
