Here is a inquiry page for the smog test history of a vehicle. You can either use the plate number or VIN. Do it both ways in case the car has had a plate change.

Yep, I've used this link to find vehicles I've previously owned. I wouldn't mind having a few of them back. If your vehicle doesn't come up, it's either been transferred out of the state or rusting in a boneyard somewhere...
