What shocks me is the $ 5.3 mil. So the trend I guess is not to simply surpass the price of your nearest competitor by 20 or 30 % , but might as well double that amount ( thinking of the Bugatti Veyron SS roadster at $ 2.5 mil ) because there will always be an idiot, or a multitude of them with essentially limitless funds to pay for it.

Soooo, they made only four of the hard-top edition, and one of those went in their museum where it will have to be maintained in perpetuity? So the margin on the first three units was more than enough to build the fourth and store it forever?! Even if I was stupid rich, I'm not sure I would be able to waste money like that.

They just produced the very similar looking Aventador three years ago, so what would be the reason for this model at 14 X the price tag ?! The performance difference for a street car is so negligible between the two models, it's of no consequence.

Oh, unless Lamborghini was purchased by Apple and they now come out with an updated / new version of their product every other week or so .. This is the iLambo 7.01 :-)

It didn't exactly explode, actually it performed as designed. See article. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/glare.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Maybe I could manage it if they gave me a good trade in on my 2002 S40...

LOL, I bought the stock, not the car, although I had a student with one in a drivers school. The car handled surprisingly well considering it's weight.
