911 & Porsche World Magazine January 2013
#21

I am not a copyright attorney, only a Patent Attorney, but I do recall that there is a fair use exception to copyright.

Publishing the title story of the current issue of a magazine is very likely not covered under the exception. Probably different story if the article is already a few years old and/or is a short side article.

Wikipedia has a decent synopsis of the fair use exception provisions / criteria if anyone is interested.

However, regardless of whatever criteria might allow a defense, the point is you can still be sued and have to spend $$ responding / defending it..no reason for the Forum owners to take any chances at all with this stuff.

I've been to 3 different bookstores looking for the damn magazine. Is it still around or is the February issue already on the news stand?

I went online to order it and I can get the February, 2013 issue or back issues only as recent as July 2012.

I would love to see the article .... but it'll probably never happen.

Found the magazine and bought it last night. Not a bad read, although it was really more about the history of the 944.

Found the issue at my local Chapters today.

A decent write up. Different than any I have read before. They took a 924, many versions of the 944 and a 968 and test drove them TODAY and compared them against each other. Most of the cars tested belong to ONE owner! The comment about how the 968 "feels as if it could give a modern Porsche like a Cayman a good run for its money" put a grin on my face! I would recommend purchasing a copy (in "print" or "on-line").

It does upset me that the "print" copy is $9.99 in the US while it is $12.99 in Canada! At a time when our dollar is virtually "at par".

There is a P-magazine out of the US that charges the same in Canada for a "print" copy as it does in the US. They have my respect...
