Had a blowout while I was in Fredericksburg this weekend for Nat'l Guard. I didn't even notice the tire had blown for a few seconds. This was my first blowout and I didn't believe my dad when he said he didn't notice his blowout at 80 in his Mercedes, but now I'm a believer. Damn those Germans are good. Anyways, I got to use my clown car spare for the first time and I am still baffled that it held air. I eventually tracked down a pair of Pilot Sports for the front but it was even more of a chore to find someone to put them on. I have 17 x 7 wheels front and 17 x 9 wheels in the back, like a lot of people with hand-me-down 911 wheels and I wanted to put a 225/45 tire on the front wheels. I found a Merchants that would put the tires on and I immediately drove a few hundred miles down here to Blacksburg then a few trips down to the store this week and they are still holding up fine. Anyways, here are some pictures of the blown tire and my car looking homeless with the donut on.
