Does such a thing exist? I'm wanting them for some 993 Cup rims I picked up recently that I'm having powder coated black. I looked around, and the only black one's I find are aluminum. I thought about painting or powder coating the lugs but it seems they would get nicked and have the color come off after a few cycles with a tire iron. Thoughts?

How about Parkerizing? Can you get nuts that are not chromed?

Pretty easy to do at home with a parkerizing kit, but I have always sent parts out to get done. In my experience, the darkness of the finish depends on the amount of carbon in the steel.

My aluminum lug nuts were probably original to the car and were making me nervous. I found a set of black steel lug nuts on eBay a couple years ago. No problems. Take a look, there's probably some available there.

Paragon has black steel lug nuts (at least they show them on their website).

Thanks to Bebe, I ordered a set of the black(ish)
steel lug nuts. I'm impressed that a set of 20 - with 2 day shipping - was only $41.65! That's the cheapest I could find them, in any color, and if they look as black as the picture, they should work just fine!

I thought that's what the Track techs wanted, in order to be sure your wheels are on securely?

Mine are so deeply recessed in the rim that I did not remember if they were black or chrome. They are black, but you can't really notice through-hole or not unless you use a flashlight.
