NEARLY 6 YEARS!!!

Welcome to the Saxum Vineyards Allocation List!

Your first offering from Saxum will begin next Tuesday, August 6, 2019 and will end on Monday, August 19, 2019. On August 6th you will receive an email around 9 am (PDT) with Justin's release letter and a link to purchase your allocation online. The wines are sold first come, first served. You should have ample time to order but there is a chance the wines will sell out before the 19th.

The offering will include 4 bottles of 2017 Broken Stones ($98), and 2 bottles of our extended age 2016 The Hexe ($148).

We recommend clicking here to ensure your email, billing, and delivery information is current. If you have questions or are unable to place an order online or over the phone during the offering window, simply let us know by replying to this message.

All our best,
Justin and Heather Smith

You might want to try a bottle of UNTI Benchland Syrah. UNTI is located in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma Co. The Benchland Syrah is the closes thing I have found to the rich smoky Syrah that you find in the northern Rhone Valley if France. Their or wines, including their Italian varietals are all excellent. They do ship.

Good Luck with Saxum

And so today, nearly 8 years after my sign up for an allocation, I received 4 bottles of Saxum James Berry Vineyards, just in time for my birthday next week. I'll let you know if it was worth the wait.

Of my friends ( yes, I have some, no jokes please ) there are two with a highly select wine collection in excess of 2,500 bottles ..each.

I told them about this and I could “ hear “ their jaw drop over the internet .

Because they were in awe of my highly coveted wine selection?

RAP, any time you and Dan can join me for dinner it would be my pleasure to open my most prized wines for you distinguished gentlemen.

In keeping with tradition, my birthday falls on St. Patty's day, so I will be at home; grilling the world's biggest/best cheeseburgers and drinking vintage Champagne (Perrier Jouet this year).

Yup, in spite of possessing more expensive and rare wines in their collection, they are indeed impressed by anything which commands an eight year wait... I am equally impressed by your patience.

Happy B-day, and the cheeseburgers and champagne feast sounds great   !   I'd invite myself over, but travelling with a hazmat suit on, is just not aligned very well with my typical wardrobe   Blush

ah the madness of the virus, we have had mass panic buying of some really odd stuff, toilet rolls????, long life milk, dried pasta, to name a few,

needless to say the wine shelves are full ,

the government health advisory says,

it attacks those that are

Over 55

heart condition

breathing issues

I tick all the boxes, better say goodbye now.................................................................

I'm sticking to my theory ; if alcohol wipes are as effective as everyone indicates they are, some serious alcohol ( including wine ) consumption will have the same positive effect on the blood steam and vital organs ..except liver perhaps..  Tongue   So people should empty the shelves of wine and liquor , not toilet paper and canned food.

In related news for California , first  Tom Hanks and his wife confirmed they tested positive.  In the latest breaking news , John Travolta was hospitalized last Sunday morning for suspected COVID-19 ; he had chills , they were multiplying , and he felt like he was losing control.  But doctors now confirm that it was only a mild case of Saturday night fever , and they are assuring everyone that he is still stayin’ alive .  B)

Jay Happy Birthday. Cheeseburgers are a fantastic choice. I’m in Florida with my Mom and wife. Supposed to leave with my wife yesterday. I concluded that I couldn’t in good conscience leave my Mom by herself. She of course is fully functioning and a Uber active 84 year old. We determined based on best info available that flying was not such a good idea. So we are driving back from Florida. Perfect opportunity to take a long trip in a Porsche. No Porsche. Oh woah is me!

We are bri bing wine for the trip.

Guess I’m just a bad kid. We actually rented the car she wants to buy. Camry. Not a bad car. She currently has a 2006 with low miles. Typical little old lady car. The Rental a 2020 got incredible gas mileage. Averaged 37-38 mpg with average speed after Florence S.C. of 70-80 mph. The first leg up to Florence from Sanibel was like what you read about traffic when everyone leaves for a hurricane. Absolutely surreal. Grapes of wrath like. Bumper to bumper with start stop and extremely low speeds. Sunday was better with substantially less cars on the road. In fact noticeably less cars than should have been. I’ve decided to bag a road trip this summer in one of the Porsche’s.

I love you guys and your incredible gas mileage, if your fuel was $2.00 / litre you would all drive smart cars, my Audi A4 2.0 TDI regularly does 60+ MPG on the highway at 80-90mph,

the best I have had out of it was coming back east from west with a huge tail wind, 155 miles and 66.1 MPG cruising at 75 mph, 2.0 ltr 177 BHP 4 wheel drive, we get 38-40 out of our auto Volvo 2.4D XC60, around town.

the 968 does 28-30 mpg most of the time I drive it sensibly, but that does not happen often
