back in the saddle
#1

i've been really busy with the supercharger project, and have been on a large project for my real job for the last couple of months - this has occupied the largest portion of my time

i am now finished with the work project, and will be wrapping up the final chip tuning on the supercharger over the next few days

this means that i can jump back into working on the website, and adding a bunch of features i have had in mind for some time - there are a lot of things that will be added to improve the site, make it even more user friendly, expand the database, and extend its reach to the public - we will be doing everything possible to ensure that this site remains the ultimate 968 resource and meeting place

i am pretty sure that we will also be implementing a referral reward program to reward people for seeking out new members and bringing them here - we haven't worked out the details yet, but look for news on that soon

we will also be adding some new sponsors with whom we have been talking for some time - we won't be burying the site with ads and such though, as that is just not what this site is about - it's about the members and the content - so, you won't see big side bars of junk ads, nor have to wait for ads to load to see the content - you won't even see ads on every page

once again, thanks to all who have supported the site, and made it what it is - we look forward to he upcoming expansion and improvement, and hope you all like it

I was thinking yesterday as I was browsing the site:"I have not seen Flash post for a while!".
Great to see your "back in the saddle"!
Can't wait to see the improvements to what is already a great site.

Like Langly said, I noticed your "thread count" was down dramitically. Nice to hear the project didn't kill you and your back with us.

lol - nope - didn't kill me - just had a LOT on my plate - it's going to be a week or so before i completely get my head above water, but a little bit at a time, i am already working on the changes to the site - we should see some of those pop in before the end of the month

i should finally be able to sort through the last 1500 unsorted threads

i should have the new code written soon, so that the quote function can be reactivated, but in a limited fashion (i.e. not quoting the last post, which is just plain rude, and limiting the length of any quote, so that it is for contextual reference only, as it should be, and not clutter things up with long useless quotes)

we will be getting a chat board up and running as well, with scheduled Q&A sessions, tech sessions, yada yada

the garage will also be reinstated, allowing people to document their cars, show pics, list mods, talk about them, etc

the member map will get updated

going to see if i can work out something for "instant response" on tech questions too - that would make this the ultimate site for tech issues, and eliminate the need for people to have to hunt around for an answer

more on the horizon, but those are pretty cool starters

Sounds awesome. After being a 944 owner and Pelican Parts forum member for many years, this forum is already about 100000000 times better! Keep up the good work, I know how hard these things can be. And while your at it, try to make some more 968 goodies
