Did not know where else to put this, move it to whereever should be
During moving the cars round our residents car park I managed to just rub the end of the front bumper on a wood post, the touch was so light I did not even feel it in the car
Not knowing I had rubbed the post I popped the car in reverse and promptly ripped the front bumper right off, this included ripping the mounting points off the inside of the cover, on inspection the joints where the mount went on the bumper cover were less than 0.5 mm thick, so weak it’s stupid.
The cover also fixed up at the top by the headlights, these fixings are part of the headlamp mounting frames, these were also both broken
So I ordered some PPA/PE plastic welding rods off the bay and spent nearly two days welding the mounts back on the bumper cover, that saved me £547 plus paint for a cover, then I had to buy two new headlamp mount frames, some things are the same no matter the make of car
Frames on eBay £50 each, cheap Chinese copy’s at £40 each, direct genuine from Audi £62 the pair
Managed to ge it all back in one bit all fixed, drove it for two days and suddenly get a warning on the dash, Adaptive Headlight Failure....
Oh great, so I phone the stealership spoke to the workshop manager who informed me it would be the adaptive module in the offending headlight, they would only replace them in pairs at £400 per headlight WTF!!!!!!
So I was not having that, bit of google and no real answer, but I found a fella with a Q5 with a similar problem, and on investigation it was the static cornering light H7 bulb that had gone pop, so with the scary message on the dash and if you were not a tech person that could have been a £1000 bill

But at least the car is all sort of fixed
