sandoval - did you see my post about this issue? It could also be that the web server that's hosting your site doesn't have it's mime types configured correctly.

[quote name='Etnier' date='May 30 2006, 05:56 PM']Thanks indeed! Will this repair the "View Vehicles" bug?

Eric: we sure appreciate the dedication you've shown to making this a productive and useful information source.  <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

That's it. It was very nice to be able to see what was up with a poster's vehicle directly from the post.

Well the error message seems to indicate that a software component in the forum platform is missing: maybe a software upgrade required upgraded support for the "view vehicles" function, for example.

This has been under discussion for a while...

Flash: it's hard to tell from your last two posts here. Are you clear on the fact that we're now discussing two distinct issues?

• The "attached images" bug.

• In the posts immediately preceding this one, discussion turned to the "View Vehicles" bug.

I have tried to view attached images on 6 different browsers and it all comes up with the same php parsing code. Anyone have a solution to this yet? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I have a temporary solution for now.

Just right-mouse click and choose 'save-as' it will ask you to save it as a .php file, but just rename it to "whatever.jpg"

Works for me. Is it churlish to point out that the images then have to be opened in a seperate application? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

They have a fix but the board skins might not load correctly. So I need to do this when I have some extra time to fix things that might not migrate over to the new software. I will try and get to this, this weekend.

In the continuing absence of w3c compliance I found another simple way to see the pics with Firefox without downgrading to IE.

And then I saw Chris told us the same <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

<delete>

Now we need a fix to the Garage entry, although there is a Linux port I'm not installing funny extensions.

With greatest respect for what you're trying to do, it doesn't seem to be constructive call this a "simple" "fix":

• Right-click

• Save the file

• Go to the file

• Change the filename

• Open in an another program

The whole purpose of this thumbnailing and onsite hosting of images was to make them readily available to forum members. Have you tried that 'fix' when someone posts 5-10 images of his new car, camshaft wear or whatever?

This has gone unaddressed since May: I have to assume that the forum has gone Windows-only, IE-only. I don't visit here very often.

I fully admitted in my post that it was a "temporary solution"..

I'm still using firefox, and sometimes I don't even bother looking at pics because of the steps involved <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
